  3. I just recently thought of a solution to a problem that Palin mentions, to wit that the federal government has locked up too much of Alaska's land from economic development. And the solution lies in the Supreme Court’s horrendous Kelo decision -- which decision has already authorized the State of Alaska to assert eminent domain over any of the lands under its jurisdiction (which lands are nominally within its sovereignty, in any event) and turn them over to other parties with will more efficiently develop them.

With respect to the State of Alaska (or any other State), does not Federal ownership of lands within the State put the Federal government into the same relationship to the State as any other landowner?
